Staff Concerns
A "Staff Concern" refers to any issue, problem, or matter of importance raised by TXST employee that affects an employee's well-being, job performance, or the overall functioning of the company. Recognizing and addressing staff concerns is crucial for fostering a positive work environment, promoting open communication, and ensuring that TXST employees feel valued and supported in their roles.
Before You Begin
- Please visit the Staff Concerns Response Status page to see if a similar concern has recently been submitted.
- Use this form to submit concerns impacting all TXST staff and related to campus wide policies.
- For departmental questions, we encourage you to work directly with the applicable departments.
- If you are not sure who to work with, please send an email to Staff Council or contact your local Staff Council representative.
- For sensitive concerns of a confidential nature, please contact our Staff Ombudsperson.
- For faculty concerns, contact Faculty Senate.

How Concerns are Addressed
- At the next Executive Committee meeting, the item will be assigned to a committee or officer for investigation.
- When the committee or officer has completed the investigation, the report will be read at the next Staff Council meeting and entered into the minutes.
- Items received before the first Tuesday of the month will be placed on that month's agenda at the discretion of the Staff Council Executive Committee.
- A member of executive committee will notify the requester of the result.
Bias Response Protocol
Staff are encouraged to complete a Bias Incident Report for actions or behaviors that are not criminal in nature but are counter to the institution's inclusive values. A bias incident is any conduct, speech, expression, or action that is motivated in part or in whole by bias or prejudice, hatred, or bigotry and directed at any individual or group.
TXST Sexual Misconduct Policy
According to section 3.1 of the Texas State University Sexual Misconduct Policy, "A responsible employee who receives a report of sexual misconduct must report to the Title IX Coordinator all relevant details about the alleged sexual misconduct shared by the Victim. A responsible employee should not share information with law enforcement without the Victim’s consent, unless the Victim has also reported the incident to law enforcement."
