Provost and VPIT search updates

VPIT – Internal search (posted through HR). Hope to have candidates in for interviews in September
Provost – Using search firm. Position expectations set after meeting with focus groups. Hope to meet with candidates by Thanksgiving.

Announcements

Bobcat R.O.A.R. Games

Held July 27. Thanks to HR for organizing and hosting the event. It was a lot of fun for participants.

State of Texas State Address (8/18)

Will be in a different format this year. It will not be a long list of faculty awards/tenure, but will be a University update. Encourage staff to attend. Offices are approved to run on skeleton crews to allow for participation.

Dependent Tuition Benefit

Application is online for the fall semester. Check HR website

Staff Ombuds position

Noel Fuller announced in HR Buzz email as the new Staff Ombuds. Noel is a prior Staff Council Chair.
